How I Got Here

On a personal note, Dr. Talib hails from Kansas City, where she emigrated to from India via the United Arab Emirates and Korea as a tween. She is South Asian American and her international experiences inform her culturally sensitive approach to parenting and supporting families with teens. She lives in New York City, with her husband and two children. She has a history of infertility, endometriosis and adenomyosis and is now a passionate advocate for, speaks about and cares for teens with pelvic pain and fertility concerns.

In medical school, Dr. Talib could not decide between specializing in psychiatry, gynecology and pediatrics. In adolescent medicine, she has found a career that walks  the line between these fields and one that is immensely satisfying. Dr. Talib hopes to inspire more students to consider careers in adolescent health & wellness.

 WHY I’M HERE

“Coming-of-age stories have drawn me in since I was a teen myself. The themes of the stories I hear my teenage patients share today still resonate with those that I grew up with, but the world seems so much faster now.⁣ Taking a positive youth development, trauma informed, strengths based and culturally sensitive approach, I help teens, and those in their orbit, use single moments to take small steps forward.”
